Join us for a soulful jazz evening with Shireen Francis and her team on the first Friday of October. We have prepared a seasonal pumpkin menu for you :-)!
Shireen Francis is a warm, engaging and soulful performer. Born in London of Jamaican and Goan heritage, Shireen initially learned her craft in Afro-Caribbean music; however, inspired by artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and later Marlena Shaw, Dianne Reeves and Carmen Lundy, she moved into jazz singing and writing her own material. Performing with some of the country’s top jazz musicians, the combination of Shireen’s stunning expressive voice coupled with her innate musicianship has delighted audiences all around the world. During her 25 year career, Shireen has performed at top International venues and festivals, including Ronnie Scott’s, Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall, 606 Club and Pizza Express Dean Street. Shireen fronts her own Caribbean rhythm and groove band ‘The Small Island Experience’ and tours with the show ‘When Peggy met Ella’ with singer Sarah Moule.
Tonight Shireen will be joined by her favourite keyboardist and bass guitarist to perform some her favourite songs in her own unique style of soulful jazz.
